Business Development Manager

Summary / Objective

We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager to be the leading force that fuels our growing client relationships in our Upper Midwest market. The ideal candidate will have proven experience building on existing relationships, eliminating competitor threats within our client base, and ensuring client satisfaction. The Business Development Manager will be a proactive and curious member of the team, identifying growth opportunities for clients before a need or gap has been stated. This level of foresight and meticulous analysis is what will take StrataDefense confidently into the future.

Job Duties

  • Perform prospecting activities such as cold calling and networking to develop a sales pipeline.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with prospective clients.
  • Research prospective clients in targeted industries, pursue leads and follow through to a successful close.
  • Represent the company at industry events and be able to speak effectively to company products and services.
  • Continuously improve knowledge of IT, the financial industry, similarly regulated industries, and company products and services.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of how our clients operate, their business and technical needs, and their IT pain points.
  • Participate in the development of sales forecasts and annual budgeting processes.
  • Track and report on competitors and their offerings.
  • Maintain activity and contact information in a CRM.

Physical Demands

This position requires occasional lifting or moving of equipment up to 50 lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and general hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position can be in-office or remote in Wisconsin.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, technology, or related discipline.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Financial industry experience desired. Sales experience in a technology service provider environment is a plus.
