Network Engineer II

Summary / Objective

We are currently looking for a Network Engineer, II to join our growing technical team. This position reports to the IT Director. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and will thrive working on a team.

Job Duties

  • Act as an escalation point for incoming support phone calls and assist with triage of new support tickets as needed
  • Perform complex software and hardware installation and configuration
  • Resolve complex application, workstation, and server tickets
  • Contribute to team project planning
  • Identify and fill gaps in the team knowledge base
  • Identify and contribute process improvement ideas
  • Design and implement automated methods of completing tasks
  • Complete project work as assigned
  • Report time accurately and completely
  • Operate under the leadership of the IT Director
  • Assist other team members as needed

  • Cloud computing, particularly Azure
  • Firewall configuration, particularly Fortinet
  • Windows operating systems and their related applications
  • MacOS and their related applications
  • Workstations
  • Local & network printers and scanners
  • Mobile devices (tablets, mobile phones) of major operating systems (iOS, Android)
  • Networking and network devices
  • Microsoft Exchange\Microsoft 365
  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • VMware
  • Security applications, including anti-virus, web filtering, SIEM, etc.

Physical Demands

This position requires occasional lifting or moving of equipment up to 50 lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and general hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position can be in-office or remote in Wisconsin.

Required Education and Experience

  • Associates Degree in Networking, Computer Support, or Application Development and at least 1 year of job experience in a similar role

OR

  • 3 years on the job experience in a similar role.
